The Student Princes have allowed just 9 points in three wins. Otterbein took advantage of three John Carroll fumbles to win 21-7 and improve to 3-0, equaling their win total from lasts season.

Eleven players got carries for the victors as one of the WIAC's best crushed one of the MIAA's worst. UW-Oshkosh defeated Alma 70-9. Nate Wara, a preseason All-America selection at quarterback for the Titans, completed 20 of 30 passes for 242 yards and ran 13 times for 95 yards and two more scores, none of them in the final 25 minutes of the game.

Whitworth survived a potential game-tying field goal attempt, as Chapman's 33-yard kick went wide left at the final gun. Albion bounced back from a tough loss last week as Clinton Orr scored four touchdowns and Wes Dolen picked off two passes in the fourth quarter in defeating Central 35-16. Dominic Bona got the call at quarterback in place of injured Peter Krauss. Freshman quarterback Ayrton Scott ran for 163 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 175 more and four more scores as Augsburg defeated Hamline 48-24. Ohio Wesleyan hit a 46-yard field goal with four seconds left to knock off Case Western Reserve 17-14.

In a battle to keep up with Widener at the top of the MAC, Lycoming allowed Albright to score two touchdowns, then responded with four of their own, plus a field goal, in a 29-14 road victory. Western Connecticut nearly ended its long losing streak with a shocker, but Rowan battled back from a halftime deficit to beat the Colonials 30-24. It was Western Connecticut's 24th consecutive defeat.
