Junior Kicker Kevin Grady Represents Redlands on the AFCA All-America Team
It was announced earlier today that junior kicker Kevin Grady (Seattle, WA) of the University of Redlands landed on the 2012 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III All-America Team for his contributions during the Bulldogs' 6-3 season.
He becomes the fifth Bulldog in Redlands history to receive this honor. In addition, Grady is the only representative of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) to be selected in 2012.
Grady provided consistency and strength to the Bulldog kicking game, averaging 59.5 yards per kickoff on 64 attempts, which included 20 touchbacks.
Culminating in a team-high 77 points, Grady connected on 35 of his 39 point-after-tries and 14 of his 18 field goals during the season. He split the uprights a school-record five times in the Maroon and Gray's final game of the season, which led to a 63-40 victory over Whittier College.
His longest field goal of 45 yards came in the team's 40-21 triumph over the University of La Verne.
In addition, Grady contributed 19 punts in reserve duty, amassing 693 yards with a long of 53. He positioned two punts inside the 20-yard line, and tallied three fair catches and two touchbacks.
