Williams Extends Engagement As MIAA Player of the Week

Albion College running back Darrin Williams has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Offensive Player of the Week in football for the second consecutive week.

The senior from Detroit who prepped at Martin Luther King High School produced 249 yards of total offense as Albion improved to 5-2 with a 24-3 victory over Alma College. Williams rushed for 173 yards on 27 carries, scoring on runs of 4 and 6 yards, and caught four passes for 76 yards.

Williams has rushed for 422 yards and three scores the past two weeks.

Albion continues league play on the road at 1 p.m. Saturday when it challenges Olivet College.

Albion College produced a pair of athlete of the week award winners in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, league publicist Greg Chandler announced Monday.
