UMHB promotes Shinn to offensive coordinator

More news about: Mary Hardin-Baylor

Belton, TX – Long-time assistant coach Jeff Shinn has been promoted to offensive coordinator of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team, Cru head coach Pete Fredenburg announced today. Shinn replaces Matt Robinson, who resigned to pursue other career opportunities.

Shinn recently completed his sixth year as a full-time assistant coach. He served as a student and graduate assistant coach for the previous four seasons. Prior to joining the coaching staff, Shinn spent four years as the starting fullback for the Cru. He finished his career as UMHB's second leading all-time rusher and he scored the first touchdown in the history of the UMHB football program. Shinn also served as head coach of the Cru junior varsity program for five seasons and he led that team to undefeated records in 2007 and 2010. Shinn is a graduate of UMHB in 2005 and he completed work on his Master's degree in 2007.

"I am very excited about what Jeff can do with our offense," Cru head coach Pete Fredenburg said. "He will have a positive impact on our offense because he is always so upbeat and that should carry over to our offensive personnel. I am also very proud of the job Matt Robinson did in directing our offense and I wish him the best in his future endeavors."

The UMHB football team finished 12-1 overall and won the American Southwest Conference Championship with an 8-0 league mark. The Cru advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championships for the eighth straight season.
