Maine Maritime didn't quite reset its Division III rushing record, but another quarter like Saturday's fourth quarter against Coast Guard and it would have happened.

Each week during the regular season we look at some of the key statistical performances from the weekend in Division III football, highlighting one per region.

Muhlenberg junior defensive end Kenneth Cobb was a disruptive force in the Ursinus backfield all game long, recording four and a half sacks, for losses of 46 yards. He had at least one sack in each quarter of the Mules’ 27-20 win.

In a wild fourth quarter, Coast Guard and Maine Maritime combined for 54 points on Saturday. The Bears entered the fourth quarter trailing 42-14 before the craziness truly began. The teams combined for eight touchdowns, six of which were on drives of two minutes or less and two of which were on drives of two plays or less. Jim Bower carried 28 times for 218 yards as Maine Maritime ran for 619 yards, a year after rushing for a Division III-record 730 against the Bears. For Coast Guard, Eric Hudson had six catches for 123 yards in the fourth quarter alone.

Dee Brizzolara followed up his D3football.com Play of the Week performance with another big game in the University of Chicago’s 61-22 win against Carnegie Mellon. He caught eight passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns, adding two more touchdowns on returns of 83 (kickoff) and 86 (punt) yards.

St. Norbert finally punted again this week. But not often. A week after going without punting in a 37-13 win against Ripon, the Green Knights punted once in their 28-0 win against Lake Forest, wrapping up the Midwest Conference automatic bid.
