QB Derek Leonard, Illinois College
The sophomore completed 22 of 37 passes for 306 yards and five touchdowns in a 56-36 loss to Westminster.

RB Paul Smith, Gettysburg
The senior carried 18 times for 154 yards to move into second on the school's all-time rushing list, collecting 286 all-purpose yards in a loss to Randolph-Macon.

RB Jim DeMaise, King's
DeMaise became King's career rushing leader with 2,247 yards after gaining 117 in a 28-18 win against Hartwick. It was King's first opening day win since varsity football began at King's in 1993. The senior had two receptions for 39 yards and a key 57-yard punt return which set up King's final score. DeMaise scored on TD runs of 16 and 7 yards.

WR Scott Pingel, Westminster
All Pingel did was break a receiving record held by some guy named Jerry Rice. He finished with nine catches for 113 yards and three touchdowns.

WR Joshua Carter, Muhlenberg
Carter only got nine touches in a 42-24 win at Kings Point, but the sophomore turned those into 244 yards, including a 92-yard kickoff return to open the season.

DL Nick Nicastro, Wilmington
The sophomore had nine total tackles, five of them behind the line of scrimmage, including four sacks for a total of 18 yards lost in a 48-17 win against Urbana.

LB Thomas Ricke, Simpson
The junior notched 11 tackles (nine solo), including two for loss, and intercepted a Dubuque pass in a 31-6 win.

LB Keith Jones, Chowan
Jones returned an interception 21 yards for a touchdown, broke up two more passes and contributed five tackles (one for loss) in the 25-14 win against Methodist.

LB Brian Hee, Catholic
Hee had seven tackles, including a tackle for loss and half a sack, as well as forcing a fumble in a 26-21 loss to John Carroll. 

DB Antonio Nash, Susquehanna
Playing his first collegiate game, Nash had five total tackles and two interceptions in helping hold FDU-Madison to three points and 166 yards of total offense.

RET Gary Bolden, MacMurray
The senior tallied 383 return yards, including a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown and a 71-yard kickoff return.

RET Bobby Kraft, John Carroll
Kraft set the tone early for John Carroll, returning the opening kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown in a win at Catholic. The senior later scored on an 80-yard play from scrimmage.

P Greg Jones, Olivet
The sophomore averaged 41.9 yards on nine punts, including one for 66 yards.
