November 16, 2019 MIT Claims NCAA Berth and NEWMAC Title With Wild 43-40 Win at Springfield In a wild regular-season finale, the MIT football team used a 36-yard field goal from junior Mark Wright (Fort Worth, Texas) with 33 seconds remaining to cap a 43-40 victory at Springfield to claim the 2019 NEWMAC Championship.
November 9, 2019 MIT Pulls Away for 34-21 Senior Day Win Over Norwich On Senior Day, the MIT football team used four touchdowns by senior Chris Mauck (Wellington, Fla.) to pull away for a 34-21 home win over Norwich University. Prior to the game, MIT recognized 18 members of the senior class for their contributions to the program during their careers.
November 2, 2019 MIT Earns 28-22 Double-Overtime Win Over Previously Unbeaten WPI In the second overtime period, junior Keithen Shepard (Vancouver, Wash.) pulled down a 23-yard TD pass in the back of the end zone to lift MIT to a thrilling 28-22 home win over previously-undefeated WPI on Saturday afternoon. The win is MIT’s first over WPI since 1900 as the Cambridge Engineers now trail the all-time series by a 9-7-1 margin. The victory also lifts MIT into a three-way tie for first place with two games remaining as the Engineers are tied with WPI and Springfield.
November 1, 2019 Roundup: MIT engineers win; ODAC remains tied MIT hadn't beaten WPI since 1900, but that streak ended Saturday. Meanwhile, Bridgewater dominated and Randolph-Macon survived to keep the ODAC tied, and the SAA and NCAC remain tied at the top as well.
October 12, 2019 Career Day by Robertson Leads MIT Past Maine Maritime, 30-12 Led by a career-high 263-yard rushing performance from senior John Robertson (Brentwood, Tenn.), the MIT football team defeated Maine Maritime Academy by a 30-12 final on Saturday afternoon in Cambridge. This was the first 200-yard rushing game for MIT since 2015 and is the third-highest single-game total in program history.
September 28, 2019 Defense, Special Teams Lead MIT Past Catholic in NEWMAC Opener In the NEWMAC opener for both teams, the MIT football team defeated Catholic University by a 32-13 final on Saturday in Washington, D.C. The Engineers were led by an outstanding defensive and special teams effort, along with a pair of long touchdown passes from senior Chris Mauck (Wellington, Fla.).
