John Carroll got blown out, Frostburg State rallied and Wabash survived in Saturday's early Top 25 action. In addition, No. 10 St. Thomas defeated No. 6 St. John's 20-17 in front of 37,355 at Target Field.

Heidelberg broke open a 7-7 game with a 33-7 run and the Student Princes returned two interceptions for touchdowns in a 47-21 win vs. No. 9 John Carroll. Heidelberg picked off two JCU quarterbacks a combined total of five times in the win.

After Eddie Williamson caught a 32-yard touchdown pass to tie the game in the second quarter, Heidelberg answered with a 73-yard strike to Tony Morris just 51 seconds later, and the Student Princes were off to the races. The Student Princes have hung 40-plus points on all three opponents this season -- Olivet, Ohio Northern and John Carroll -- all of whom were either ranked or receiving Top 25 votes at the time of victory.

Rowan jumped out to a 10-7 lead at the half on Frostburg State, but the Profs got no more. Connor Cox threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to tight end Christian DiPaola on the Bobcats' first possession of the second half to take a 14-10 lead and Hassan Mostafa added a short field goal after a blocked punt. Malik Morris caught a 43-yard TD pass to cap the scoring and hand Rowan the 24-10 loss, its first.

No. 25 Wabash scored twice in the fourth quarter to rally past Hiram 25-21. Hiram had jumped out to a 14-0 lead with two first-quarter touchdowns, the second one on a short field, and retook the lead with a 44-yard drive after a long kickoff return to start the second half.

Elmhurst jumped out to an 8-0 lead, but No. 4 Wheaton pulled away in the fourth quarter to win 40-15. The Thunder were playing for the first time since five of its players were charged with felonies in relation to a hazing incident from 2016.

No. 12 Delaware Valley scored the first time it touched the ball and never looked back in a 27-7 win over Stevenson. LaQuille Nesbitt returned the opening kick 81 yards for a score and Vinnnie Nelson added a 53-yard punt return for a touchdown. The Aggies' defense held Stevenson to 4-for-14 on third down and picked off Mustangs quarterback Dan Williams twice.

No. 13 UW-Platteville jumped out to a 28-0 lead on Lakeland and cruised to a 56-22 win. Michael Whitley had 345 of Lakeland's 350 yards of total offense in the defeat, while Tyler Blang threw four touchdown passes for the Pioneers.

Brockport fell behind for the first time all season, but it didn't last long as the No. 19 Golden Eagles defeated Utica 28-14. Joe Germinerio finished the game with 244 yards passing and another 71 on the ground, throwing and running for a touchdown. Justin Morrison had another 100-yard rushing game, netting 127 and running in two scores as Brockport improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2003.

Mary Hardin-Baylor scored on its opening possession and never looked back as the top-ranked Cru rolled to a 50-7 victory over Texas Lutheran. No. 2 Mount Union went up 20-0 on Baldwin Wallace in the first quarter and cruised in similar fashion, 55-7. No. 5 North Central rolled up 35 second-quarter points to beat Millikin 51-21. No. 7 Hardin-Simmons had two 100-yard rushers in defeating Howard Payne 63-3.
