QB Zach Hubbard, Jr., Howard Payne
Hubbard broke the American Southwest Conference record for total yards in a game with 608 in an OT loss to Louisiana College, breaking the record held by D3football.com All-American Adam King. Hubbard had 532 yards passing, completing 38 of 63 passes. He threw for five touchdowns and ran for another, with 76 yards on 11 carries.
OL Rick Ingold, Andrew Benchic, Pat Smith, Justin Southwick, Dave Beale, Ohio Northern
The crew paved the way for Brent Donley's record-breaking day in which he carried the ball 44 times for 287 yards and 2 TDs on a soggy afternoon. Fifteen of the first 16 plays were Donley rushes, accounting for 122 yards and two TDs - all in the first quarter.
RB Bryson Tucker, Sr., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Tucker ran for 218 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 24 carries in his first action of the season at running back. His 218-yard total is the fourth-best single-game total in school history and is 90-yard touchdown run is the third-longest in UMHB history. Tucker also played both ways in the game and added a tackle on defense in a 21-0 victory over Southern Oregon.
RB Aaron Jackson, Sr., Wesley
Jackson scored four touchdowns and had 260 yards combined between rushing and receiving in a 34-7 win against Webber International. His 173 rushing yards (on 23 carries) and 83 receiving yards (on three receptions) were each team highs.
WR Kody LeMond, Jr., Wabash
LeMond caught four touchdown passes among 10 receptions for 197 yards in the Little Giants' 37-27 win at Wooster. He made TD receptions of 53, 30, 17, and 14 yards. LeMond also became the eighth Wabash player to post more than 2,000 career receiving yards, reaching the mark faster (2,084 yards in 23 games) than any other Little Giant.
WR Dee Brizzolara, Fr., Chicago
Brizzolara caught eight passes for 217 yards and three touchdowns in Chicago's 38-7 win over Denison. Brizzolara, who averaged 27.1 yards per catch, scored on receptions of 16, 25, and 73 yards. He also logged 44 yards on his lone kickoff return, giving him 261 all-purpose yards on the day. He entered the day as the Division III leader in the category.
TE Kyle Fiedorowicz, Jr., North Central (Ill.)
Fiedorowicz emerged as a key contributor against Wheaton for the second consecutive season, catching multiple TD passes for the first time in his career against the then-No. 3-ranked Thunder.
Defense
DL Peter Scheve, Sr., Colby
Scheve gave the Mules two points with a safety on the way to a 16-0 win at Hamilton. He had recovered a fumble at Hamilton's 6-yard line, but the Mules lost the ball on downs at Hamilton's 1-yard line and Scheve recorded the safety on the next play. Scheve (five tackles, two solo, two sacks) and his defensive teammates held Hamilton to minus-14 yards rushing and just 87 yards of total offense.
DL Garrett Wooters, Jr., Delaware Valley
Wooters (six tackles, three sacks) led an Aggie defense that held Lycoming to 218 yards of total offense, recorded five sacks and forced six turnovers in a 21-7 road win. His fumble recovery led to a game-tying score for the Aggies while his second sack took Lycoming out of field goal range at the end of the first half with the score 14-7.
DL Evan Wyler, Sr., Cortland State
Wyler recorded a career-high and team-high 13 tackles (10 solo) along with four quarterback hurries in Cortland's 12-10 victory at William Paterson. Cortland did not allow the Pioneers into Red Dragon territory the entire second half.
DL Alex Wertheimer, Jr., Occidental
Wertheimer had four sacks for a loss of 20 yards and an additional six tackles for a loss of yardage in a 14-13 win against La Verne. He recorded seven solo tackles in all while breaking up a pass and adding a pair of quarterback hurries as well.
LB Will Hawkins, Jr., Millsaps
Hawkins recorded his fourth consecutive game with double-digit tackles, picking up a game-high 10 (two solo) in a shutout win against No. 25 Centre. He also added a half tackle-for-loss and a 20-yard interception return that led to a Millsaps touchdown.
LB Jerrad Jefferson, So., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Jefferson led the Crusaders' defense with 14 tackles. He also broke up a pass for a UMHB defense that allowed just 196 yards of total offense and forced five turnovers in a shutout of Southern Oregon.
LB Andrew Wallace, Sr., McMurry
Wallace led McMurry with 11 tackles (five solo), two tackles for a loss, a sack and a half, and his first career interception. McMurry won its fourth consecutive game with a 36-23 win over Texas Lutheran in Seguin.
CB Gene Hudson, Jr., McMurry
Hudson tied a school record for McMurry with three interceptions in Saturday's 36-23 win over Texas Lutheran. Hudson added six tackles, 0.5 TFL, one pass breakup and had 25 total yards returned on his three picks
S Kevin Peters, Jr., Millsaps
Peters picked off his SCAC-leading sixth pass in a 24-0 Millsaps win over No. 25 Centre, and added six tackles and a breakup.
S Josh McLeod, So., North Central (Ill.)
McLeod posted career highs in tackles (nine, three solo) and pass breakups (three) as North Central limited Wheaton to 111 passing yards and 206 total yards.
CB Anthony Sierra, Fr., Defiance
Sierra tied the school single-game record with three interceptions in a 20-7 victory at Anderson. The freshman corner returned one for a 27-yard touchdown . Sierra’s efforts helped hold the Ravens to 188 total yards of offense and just 12-of-33 completions through the air.
Special teams
K Andrew Foote, Lewis and Clark
Foote was 5-for-5 on field goals and 6-for-6 on extra points, helping the Pioneers defeate Crown 57-35.
P Shaun Wild, Jr., North Central (Ill.)
Wild landed two punts inside the 20-yard line and helped North Central to a 33.8-yard net punting average to keep Wheaton operating with a long field.
RET Cevon Carver, Sr., Brockport State
Carver, who returned only two kickoffs on the day, took his first attempt 80 yards for a touchdown in a 45-44 loss to Western Connecticut State. He followed with a second attempt that he returned 90 yards for a second touchdown, finishing the contest with 170 total return yards on only two attempts.
