ITHACA, N.Y. – After a national search, Ithaca College Director of Athletics Aaron Bouyea is pleased to announce that Brandon Maguire has been selected as the next head coach to lead the Bomber football program. Maguire's appointment will begin immediately.

"From the moment the process started, Coach Maguire stood out among an extremely competitive pool of candidates," said Bouyea. "His passion and energy for Bomber football, leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to our student-athletes were evident throughout the search."

Maguire is no stranger to South Hill as he has served as the offensive coordinator since 2024. The Bombers have gone 14-6, including an 11-2 mark in the Liberty League, and have led the conference in total offense, first downs and third down conversions over the past two seasons. Ithaca has also ranked first or second in passing offense, passing efficiency, rushing offense and scoring in 2024 or 2025.

"I couldn't be more excited to become the head coach of the Ithaca Bombers," expressed Maguire. "I want to thank President Cornish, VP of SACL Stanley Bazile, Athletic Director Aaron Bouyea, and the search committee for such an incredible opportunity."

"Two years ago, Ithaca impressed me with the program's rich history, incredible alumni support, and the college's commitment to the student-athlete experience. I am excited to lead a program the alumni and community will be proud of. We are excited as a staff to get back to work with our dedicated and hard-working student athletes."

A total of 12 student-athletes have been named All-Liberty League under the guidance of Maguire, including five first-team honorees.

Prior to his arrival at Ithaca College, Maguire served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Chicago during the 2023 season. The Maroons went 6-4 last season in the Midwest Conference and averaged 32.5 points and 402.5 yards per game. Four offensive players were named all-conference.

Maguire also spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons as a defensive line coach in the USFL with the Philadelphia Stars. He also spent time at the College of the Holy Cross where he was an offensive quality control coach, assistant wide receivers coach and assistant offensive line coach from 2020-22. During that time, the Crusaders made two appearances in the FCS playoffs and won two Patriot League titles.

Before his appointment at Holy Cross, Maguire coached for five seasons (2015-20) at the University of Northern Colorado in various roles. He would be selected to attend the NFL Leadership Academy in 2019.

Maguire got his start in coaching as a student at the University of Montana after an injury kept him off the field in 2012. He then was a graduate assistant at Langston University in 2013 and coached one year at Montana Tech in 2014.

Maguire played wide receiver at Montana where he earned a bachelor's degree in sociology with a concentration in criminology in 2013. He then earned his master's in sports coaching from Northern Colorado in 2016.

"Ithaca College is extremely excited to move into this next chapter of Ithaca College football with Brandon as our head coach. I look forward to working with him as we continue to build the program and position it for long term success at the highest level," stated Bouyea.
