GETTYSBURG, PA – The third-ranked Johns Hopkins football team jumped out to a 31-0 halftime lead and never looked back as the Blue Jays cruised to a 59-21 win at Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon. The win bumps the Blue Jays' record to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Centennial Conference, while the Bullets slip to 0-7 overall and 0-4 in the Centennial
The Blue Jays scored on five of six first-half possessions and were inside the Bullet 10-yard line on their other possession before being stopped on downs. In all, they would roll up 379 yards on 38 first-half plays in building the 31-point halftime cushion.
It took just four plays for the Blue Jays to open the scoring as they started their first drive of the game at their own 35 and used a 22-yard run from senior Geoff Schroeder and a 39-yard Schroeder reception to move to the Bullet two-yard line before Bay Harvey found senior tight end Larue Linder alone in the end zone. The touchdown was the first of Linder's career and ignited the 31-point first-half for the Blue Jays.
The lead doubled just over four minutes later when Harvey connected with junior Cole Crotty for a 59-yard touchdown to cap a four-play, 77-yard drive that took just 92 seconds.
While the first two touchdown drives needed just eight plays combined, the Blue Jays' third scoring drive was a 16-play, 89-yard masterpiece that was set up when the Johns Hopkins defense turned the Bullets over on downs at the Blue Jay 11-yard line. On the ensuing possession, Johns Hopkins would convert three times on third down on its 16-play scoring drive, including a six-yard scramble form Harvey one play before he capped the drive with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Crotty.
The Bullets amassed 103 yards on their first two drives of the game, but their final three first-half possessions were three-and-outs, the last two of which would give Hopkins the ball on its 49 and 41-yard lines. The Blue Jays would cash in with a Schroeder one-yard run and a 27-yard Brad Paxton field goal to close the first-half scoring.
The Bullets would get on the board with a nifty seven-play, 70-yard drive that saw them close with a 12-yard Sean Clark touchdown pass to Nick Wonsala in the corner of the end zone on the first drive of the second half.
Johns Hopkins answered less than two minutes later with a Schroeder two-yard run that polised off a four-play, 69-yard scoring drive and the Blue Jays would tack on three additional rushing touchdowns with one each from Ty Pugliano (1), Melik Frost (7) and Brock Dandridge (7) to account for their final scoring plays of the game.
Gettysburg added a pair of long touchdown passes – one late in the third quarter (62 yards) and one midway through the fourth (56) – to polish off a 357-yard offensive performance.

• Harvey was 23-of-29 for a career-high 395 yards and three touchdowns and added 15 rushing yards to account for 410 yards of total offense.
• Crotty rolled up his eighth 100-yard receiving performance in the last 11 games as he finished with eight receptions for 168 yards and the two touchdowns. Josh Moore added four receptions for 92 yards as the Blue Jays rolled up 424 yards through the air.
• Cole Stup paced the Blue Jays with seven tackles, including one sack, while Browning Trainer, Wyatt Davis and Xavier Newell all added five tackles.
• Johns Hopkins totaled 599 yards of total offense and has topped 500 yards in each of the last two games. This is the first time since 2023 that the Blue Jays have topped the 500-yard mark in back-to-back games.

• Landon Hunt rushed for a team-high 75 yards to power a Bullet rushing attack that churned out 184 yards on the day.
• Three Bullet quarterbacks combined to throw for 173 yards with the three touchdown passes, including the two from Wonsala, who had three catches for 82 yards and the two scores.
Johns Hopkins will return to action on Saturday, November 1 when the Blue Jays travel to Muhlenberg to take on the Mules (2 pm).
