REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Head Football Coach Jim Good announced Eric Acciani as the Bulldogs' new offensive coordinator (OC).

Acciani comes to Redlands after spending the 2024 season with NCAA Division I Football Championship Series (FCS) Tennessee Tech University. Prior to that he was the OC and quarterbacks coach for Division II Mercyhurst University.

At Tennessee Tech he helped them win their first conference championship since 2011 and only their second since 1975. He helped the Golden Eagles improve from 301 yards per game to 327. Most notably they improved by 40 yards on the ground as they ranked 41^st in the country in rushing yards per game, 39 spots higher than 2023.

While with Mercyhurst Acciani helped the Lakers increase their scoring by 25 percent from 2022 to 2023. Their quarterback finished 12^th in the country in completions per game, 19^th in passing yards, 22^nd in passing touchdowns, and the Lakers converted 3^rd downs at the 29^th highest clip in the country.

Acciani graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in history. While there he spent time as the OC for Diamond Bar High School and El Toro High School.

Following a stop in Germany as the OC for the Allgäu Comets in 2015, he was a graduate assistant at Old Dominion University. He worked with the offensive line and tight ends and spent two seasons as an offensive quality control coach. He earned his Masters of Science in education in 2020.

He final job prior to his time at Mercyhurst was at Virgina Union University (VUU) from 2021-22. He worked as the quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator. VUU ranked second in passing offense in the conference and first in third down conversion percentage.

Acciani will look to improve a Bulldog offense that ranked 157^th in total offense, 119^th in rushing, and 167^th in passing amongst 238 teams in 2024.
