The Millikin football team opened play in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with a dominating 41-7 win at North Park University on September 21.
The Big Blue racked up 609 yards in total offense including 324 yards rushing while holding North Park to just 189 yards offense.
After North Park scored on its second possession, Millikin took control of the game. The Big Blue scored 41 unanswered points including 21 in the second quarter.
Quarterback Cal Pohrte and senior wide receiver Jordan Smith connected for Millikin's first two touchdowns scoring on pass plays of 39 and 70 yards. Smith had four catches in the game for 140 becoming Millikin's all-time leading receiver passing Jerome Jackson's mark of 2,584. Smith now has 2,656 career yards. Pohrte was 12-27-1 passing for 270 yards.
The Millikin rushing game then took over with Kame'Ron Graham scoring on a 55 yards run and Ladavion Severado scoring on a 50 yard run.
Millikin lead 28-7 at the half. Millikin closed out the scoring with two third quarter scores including another touchdown run for Graham (10 yards) and 14 yard run from Richard Cosey.
Severado ended with nine carries for 124 yards followed by Cosey with 13 rushes for 93 yards. Patrick Cooper had three catches for 75 yards.
Jequan Harrell led Millikin with seven tackles including 1.5 tackles for a loss. Ashton Sandy had six tackles.
North Park quarterback Grant Borsch was 12-27 passing for 149 yards and one touchdown.
Millikin faces nationally ranked Wheaton College on September 28 at 6 p.m. as part of Homecoming Festivities.
