CLAREMONT, Calif. – After racking up 544 yards of total offense in the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team's recent 40-24 Homecoming win over La Verne, CMS' offensive line is getting some much deserved attention. The unit has been named to the Team of the Week, D3football.com announced on Oct. 15.

Behind its offensive line, the CMS offense rushed for 312 yards and five touchdowns. The total yardage (544), rushing yardage (312) and total touchdowns (6) were all season-highs for the CMS offense. CMS controlled the time of possession as well against La Verne, holding the ball for nearly 35 minutes.

Behind the starting offensive line unit of Alex Ohlendorf, Peter Clancy, Austin Crist, Garrett Myers and Joshua Boren, three rushers ran for over 50 yards. Nick Gott ran for 173 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries while Andrew Segre ran for 61 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Trey Reynolds ran for 53 yards.

This is the second time in 2014 that the Stags have been represented on the Team of the Week and the first time for the offensive side of the ball. Linebacker Max Winsberg earned the designation after the team's win over Lewis & Clark in September.

CMS is now 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in SCIAC play. Next up for CMS is a road game on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Redlands.
