BEREA, OHIO --  Sophomore quarterback Ryan O'Rourke (Avon) completed 20-of-29 passes for 223 yards and one touchdown and ran for another score as the Baldwin-Wallace College football team remained unbeaten at 4-0 overall with a 39-9 victory today (Saturday, October 2, 2010) against Marietta College on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea before 1,757 fans on "Think Pink"/ Breast Cancer Awareness Day.  Fans and media are reminded that this game will be televised by SportsTime Ohio tonight at 11:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, October 7 at 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.

With their loss, the Pioneers fell to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the OAC.  This also is B-W's first 4-0 start to a season since 2004. The Yellow Jackets also remain in first place in the OAC with a 3-0 league mark.

B-W led 7-3 after one quarter, 16-3 at halftime and 19-9 after three stanzas.

The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring at the 9:09 mark of the first quarter when sophomore backup quarterback Andrew Dziak (Maple Heights/ Parma Padua Fransiscan) grabbed a loose snap and scampered 11 yards for a touchdown to cap an 11-play and 61-yard drive in 5:51. Senior placekicker Brad Pollock (Brecksville/ Brecksville-Broadview Heights) then kicked the point-after-touchdown for a 7-0 lead.

After the Pioneer defense pinned the Yellow Jackets to their own goal line and a subsequent punt, Marietta closed to within 7-3 with 1:28 left in the first quarter when junior PK Kyle Cardwell kicked a 46-yard field goal to cap an eight-play and 13-yard drive in 3:49.

B-W increased its lead to 9-2 with a safety at the 10:36 mark of the second quarter when the Pioneer long snapper snapped the ball over their punter's head for a 34-yard loss, and when a B-W player tried to pick up the ball in the endzone, he fumbled it out the back of the endzone for the safety.

Following the free kick after the safety, B-W travelled 60 yards in six plays in 2:50 and O'Rourke scored on a one-yard sneak and Pollock added the PAT kick for a 16-3 lead.

Marietta took the opening kickoff of the second half and went 74 yards in eight plays in 4:04 to score a touchdown at the 10:50 mark when junior QB Andrew Keller threw a nine-yard scoring pass to sophomore wide receiver Kirby Harris. B-W then blocked the PAT kick to make the score 16-9.

B-W increased its lead to 19-9 at the 7:04 mark when it travelled 49 yards in 10 plays in 3:40 as Pollock booted a 28-yard field goal, his third in three tries this season.

B-W extended its lead to 26-9 with 10:41 remaining when O'Rourke lofted a 25-yard scoring pass to senior RB John McGraw (North Ridgeville) to cap a 67-yard, six play drive in 2:39. Pollock added the PAT kick of the season.

B-W made the score 32-9 just 14 seconds later when junior cornerback Matt Bowen (Tiffin/ Columbuan) picked off a Keller aerial at the 24-yard line and went untouched into the endzone. Pollock's kick was blocked, ending a streak of 22 consecutive successful PAT kicks dating back to last season.

B-W scored its final TD with 1:39 left in the game to make the final count 39-9 when senior RB Kyrell Crook (Columbus/ DeSales) sped six yards to paydirt to cap a six-play and 53-yard drive in 3:10. Pollock also added his seventh PAT kick of the game.

In addition to O'Rourke, B-W was led in rushing by Dziak with 76 yards in 10 attempts with the first TD of the game. Freshman WR Josiah Holt (Elyria/ Grafton MIdview) and junior tight end Aaron Hurd (Tiffin/ Columbian) led all receivers with six catches each and sophomore WR Aaron Manders (Toledo/ Cardinal Stritch) had four. The top tackler was senior All-OAC middle linebacker Ryan Kish (Amherst/ Marion Steele) with 12 tackles, including 2.5 QB sacks and 3.5 tackles for lost yardage.

Marietta 's Keller completed 13-of-21 passes for 145 yards with a TD before being forced from the game with an injury. The top runner was sophomore RB Trevor Drones with 54 yards in 18 attempts. The top receiver was junior WR Jahmaal Jones with a game-high seven grabs for 95 yards. The top Marietta tackler was sophomore LB Kadeem Corbin with a game-high-tying 12.
