Stagg Bowl XXIII
UW-La Crosse 36, Rowan 7
Craig Kusick threw four touchdown passes, including an 85-yarder to Jeremy Earp with four seconds left in the first half that helped break the game open as UW-La Crosse won the Division III national championship for the second time in four seasons.
Rowan got on the board first when UW-La Crosse turned the ball over deep in its own territory, but the rest of the game was all Eagles. The Profs turned the ball over six times in the loss.
"I thought I would be going on one knee and downing the ball," Kusick said after the game.
"To have that happen at the end of the half was pretty tough," said Rowan coach K.C. Keeler. "I was disappointed we let it get to us."
