After six years as the head coach of North Park, Mike Conway stepped down on Thursday afternoon.

Since his arrival in 2013, Conway's teams marked ten wins in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin and named 23 student-athletes to the All-CCIW team. In his first year with the Vikings, Conway was named the CCIW Coach of the Year, becoming the first NPU head football coach to ever receive such honors.

Conway finalizes his Viking coaching career with an overall record of 14-46 and a CCIW record of 10-36. Over the years, Conway's teams marked a pair of wins against Carthage, Augustana, Millikin, and Elmhurst, as well as wins over Illinois Wesleyan and Carroll. In one of the most impressive Viking football victories to date, North Park beat Illinois Wesleyan 27-24 at home on Nov. 14, 2015 to end their season on a high note. The Titans were 7-2 going into this game while carrying just one loss in CCIW action.

The Mike Conway era includes ending an historic losing streak of 12-plus seasons. North Park had gone that long without a conference win before defeating Carthage on Oct. 5, 2013.

The search for a head coach is underway. Athletic director Jack Surridge, is committed to "pursuing the very best candidate to continue elevation of the program and take us to the next level in Viking football."
