Dan Deighan threw two 40-yard touchdown passes as Muhlenberg scored 27 fourth-quarter points to stun McDaniel, 34-26. The Mules had entered the quarter trailing 27-6 but became the second team in three weeks to come back from a double-digit fourth-quarter deficit to beat McDaniel.

Widener looked as if it were going to make easy work of Lycoming through the first 30 minutes, jumping out to a 31-0 halftime lead. But after a first half in which the Pride posted 200 yards, the Warriors shut them down in the second. And the Lycoming offense, which gained 155 yards in the first, went off to the tune of 280 yards after the break, but couldn't get over the top as Widener won 31-28.

St. Scholastica took a 20-0 lead into halftime and tacked on a touchdown at the beginning of the third quarter to go up 27-0 at Greenville, in a game between two of the top contenders for the UMAC's first automatic bid. The Panthers didn't roll over, cutting the lead to 30-26 and picking up a fumble to get one final shot, but the Saints got a sack on fourth down to preserve the victory.

St. John's got its MIAC schedule off on the right foot, defeating Concordia-Moorhead 28-21 in overtime. Bobby Fischer returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown late in the first half to give the Johnnies a 21-7 lead and St. John's held the Cobbers off the board in the extra session to make Brent Graboski's 14-yard touchdown catch from Jake Ries stand up.

Logan Mitseff kicked a 45-yard field goal as time expired to lift Adrian past Augustana 17-14. The Vikings fell to 0-3 for the first time since 1956.

Buffalo State set a school record, lighting up the scoreboard for 82 points in an 82-17 win against Western Connecticut. It's the Bengals' highest scoring output since last year's 71-3 against West Conn.

Frostburg State played its first home game and honored the memory of Derek Sheely with a victory, as the Bobcats defeated Utica 44-24. It was Frostburg's first Empire 8 win and matched the team's win total from 2010. Dubuque got nine catches for 145 yards and two touchdowns from Michael Zweifel in a 41-16 win against crosstown rival Loras. Centre scored 28 of the last 35 points and defeated Washington and Lee 42-35. Baldwin-Wallace improved to 2-0, defeating Heidelberg 35-20 behind 119 yards from Tyler Lohr.
