The Buccaneers return to the road looking to stop a three-game slide as they take on the Red Hawks of Ripon College…

The Series: The Buccaneers and Red Hawks are meeting for the 102nd time, the most-played series on the Beloit books and one of the most-played series in Wisconsin collegiate football.  RC leads the series 68-29 with four ties.  The Red Hawks have won 10 straight and 14 of the last 15 in the series, with the lone Beloit win in that streak coming in 2005 (28-22 in Beloit).  The programs first met in the second game of the 1893 season, a 22-0 Beloit win.  The Bucs won the first six meetings, including back-to-back games during the 1895 season, before Ripon got their first series victory in 1906, 4-0.  Included in the first six Buccaneer victories were scores of 82-0 (1895) and 78-0 (1900).  The 82-0 win ranks as the second-largest margin of victory in Beloit history while the 78-0 victory is #3.  (#1 is a 115-0 win over DeKalb in 1913.)…

Bucs Most Recent Game:  The Beloit College Football team couldn't overcome a big first half by St. Norbert College at Strong Stadium last Saturday on the way to a 68-28 Midwest Conference loss.  The Green Knights scored three TDs in the opening quarter and tacked on four more in the second.  The Buccaneers got a 12-yard touchdown catch from Danny May to Ryan Sughroue that tied the game at 7-all in the first quarter and then May rushed in from five yards out late in the second quarter to make it a 48-14 game at the break.  SNC scored twice more in the third quarter, with Mason Dixon's three-yard scoring run the only Buccaneer tally, before each team scored once in the fourth, with an 11-yard TD pass from Ben Sposito to Sawyer Lindland closing out the scoring with just over four minutes remaining.  The Bucs finished with 430 yards of offense, 253 passing, while St. Norbert totaled 668, 402 through the air.  Mason Dixon finished with 106 yards on the ground on 31 carries.  May had 179 yards passing and Michael Nolden had 90 receiving yards on seven catches.  Defensively Quin Dixon and Brenden Endrina both had eight tackles.  David Lafayette forced a fumble that was recovered by Andre Prikhodko and Adrian Johanningmeier had the team's lone sack…

Bucs' Last Time vs. the Red Hawks: Beloit was on the verge of completing a late-game comeback but was stopped with just over a minute left in regulation in a 14-12 Midwest Conference North Division loss at Ripon College on October 31, 2015.  The Bucs broke a scoreless tie with just 1:26 left in the first half when Joey Werner scored on a two-yard run for his first collegiate touchdown.  But the point-after was blocked, giving Beloit a 6-0 lead at the break.  Ripon scored their first TD four-plus minutes into the third quarter on a short four-yard pass for, with the extra point, a 7-6 lead.  They made it 14-6 five seconds into the fourth quarter on a 17-yard scoring pass.  The Buccaneers put together an 11-play, 68-yard drive in the final minutes, culminating in a four-yard scoring pass from Danny May to Mike Nolden.  But the two-point conversion pass failed and Beloit still trailed 14-12 with 1:15 left.  The ensuing onside kick was recovered by Ripon at the Beloit 45 with 1:11 remaining and RC ran three plays to run out the clock.  May threw for 149 yards, with Nolden catching six passes for 54 yards and Lukeson Versulien two for 48.  Mason Dixon ran for 60 yards on nine carries.  On the defensive side David Lafayette (14), Antonio Jones (12), Dewight Walker (12) and Michael Koch (11) all finished with double-figure tackles to lead the strong effort.  Koch had a sack while Quin Dixon and Riley Pearson combined for another.  Jones and Walker each intercepted a pass and Jones, Koch and Pearson all recovered fumbles…

Notes & Notables:  Danny May now has two straight 1,000-yard-plus passing seasons, just the second Buccaneer to hit those numbers.  Brian Maughn did it in three straight seasons from 2009 to 2001…Three Buccaneer seniors continued their climb up the all-time stats ladder Saturday.  Mason Dixon went over 4,100 career rushing yards and is just over 600 yards away from the top spot and also moved in to second in career carries with 786.  He is also second all-time in rushing touchdowns with 37; Mike Nolden moved into third on the career receptions list with 169.  He also ranks second in receiving touchdowns with 27 and third in receiving yards with 2,286; Kam Sallee, already the career leader in made field goals with 26 moved within two of tying the all-time mark for made point-afters.  He now has 98…
