DE PERE, Wis. - St. Norbert College used a strong third quarter to take control and pull away from Beloit College in a 29-14 Midwest Conference North Division win at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (5-3, 2-1 MWC North) led 7-0 at halftime but then piled up 136 yards of total offense with nine first downs in the third quarter to take a 20-0 lead.

St. Norbert picked up four first downs on its first possession of the second half to take a 14-0 lead. James Tringali scrambled around the left side and made a diving stab at the pylon to finish off an 18-yard touchdown run with 9:03 left in the quarter. St. Norbert moved 60 yards in 10 plays on the drive.

Beloit (2-4, 0-3) was forced to punt after three plays, and the Green Knights were on the move again. St. Norbert marched 76 yards in 13 plays, totaling five first downs while converting three third downs, to score on Zach Broberg's 5-yard run. The extra-point attempt was blocked leaving the Green Knights with a 20-0 lead with 3:10 left in the third quarter.

The Green Knights got two field goals of 40 and 25 yards from Randy Hill early in the fourth quarter to take a 26-0 lead. Beloit's Mason Dixon broke off a 57-yard touchdown run with 6:10 left to cut the Buccaneers' deficit to 26-7. Hill kicked a 22-yard field goal with 2:03 to go, and Beloit scored a consolation touchdown with 34 seconds left on a 5-yard pass from Evan Phillips to Michael Nolden for the game's final points.

St. Norbert scored a touchdown on its second possession of the game, with a seven-play, 40-yard drive finished by a J.T. Crosby 2-yard run with 6:35 left in the first quarter. Beloit had the best scoring chances the rest of the first half, with two drives stalling in the second quarter at the St. Norbert 7- and 21-yard lines.

The Green Knights, who held possession for 36:21, ran 85 plays to outgain Beloit 350-285 in total offense. Tringali, who entered the game in relief in the second quarter, completed 16 of 23 passes for 153 yards, and also rushed nine times for 68 yards. Zach Broberg led the Green Knights on the ground with 76 yards on 19 carries. Brett Olson caught eight passes for 71 yards, while Zach Reeves hauled in seven passes for 78 yards. Hill's three field goals give him 22 for his career, one short of the St. Norbrt record of 23 set by Chris Griffin from 2000-03.

Dixon gained 135 yards rushing on 20 carries, while Phillips completed 15 of 32 passes for 153 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions for Beloit. Kam Sallee caught seven passes for 105 yards.

Ryan Grandlic led St. Norbrt's defense with eight tackles, while Dan Egan totaled seven stops. Zach Klarkowski and Matt Petersilka had six tackles apiece. Beloit's Riley Pearson had a game-high 12 tackles.
