Franklin, Ind. - Record-setting Franklin College senior split end Kyle Linville (Speedway, Ind./Speedway) has received NCAA Division III All-American honors for the 2013 season by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), the organization announced on Monday. He is one of 11 offensive players selected.

Linville set a single-season school record with 108 receptions in helping lead the Grizzlies to their fourth consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) championship and Division III playoff appearance. He earned first-team All-HCAC accolades this fall after catching 14 touchdowns and amassing 1,374 receiving yards.

The 6-foot-1 receiver is the first Franklin football player to receive AFCA postseason recognition since Josh McMillin in 2001. The AFCA All-America team has been selected every year since 1945.

Linville was a 2013 Gagliardi Trophy Award finalist after ending his career atop all of Franklin's career and single-season school receiving records. His 53 career touchdowns and 4,691 receiving yards were the most among all active NCAA division players (I-FBS, I-FCS, Division II and Division III). He ended his career with 308 catches.

The Grizzlies advanced to the second round of the Division III playoffs for the third straight season. The team had an 8-4 record, including a 7-1 HCAC mark, in 2013.

Maintenance in progress.
