Rimsky named NEFC Player of the Week
DUDLEY, Mass. – Senior captain Dylan Rimsky (Denville, N.J.) has been named New England Football Conference (NEFC) Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Rimsky established Nichols single-game records for receptions (14) and receiving yards (290) in the Bison's 28-27 overtime win against Westfield State Friday night at Vendetti Field. Rimsky hauled in a 63-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter, then caught a 32-yard pass in overtime to put the Bison in front for good. The win snapped a seven-game losing streak to Westfield State and also gave the Bison their first win in a season opener since 2007.
"I am very proud of Dylan. What a great way to start off his senior season!" Nichols head coach Kevin Loney. "He has a tremendous work-ethic, and it showed on Friday. He's been overshadowed here for a few years, but I guess that's over now. I look forward to seeing what he has in store in the future."
Rimsky was named to the NEFC Honor Roll last October after catching eight passes for 155 yards and a touchdown at Plymouth State.
The Bison return to action on Friday when they host Western Connecticut State at Vendetti Field at 7 p.m.
