HCAC Players of the Week

Football: Offense – Ryan Landwehr, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

 

Rose-Hulman quarterback Ryan Landwehr (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe Valley) totaled four touchdowns in the Engineers’ 42-14 win at Anderson Saturday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on offense for the third time.  The senior threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 67 yards and a pair of scores to lead Rose-Hulman to the win.  Landwehr finished 26 of 39 through the air and rushed 17 times on the afternoon.  Rose-Hulman (6-3, 6-1 HCAC) can clinch at least a share of the school’s first football conference title since 1988 with a win at Earlham Saturday.

Football: Defense – Josh Runda, Bluffton University

 

Bluffton University linebacker Josh Runda (Lima, Ohio/Bath) led the Beavers to a stunning 24-17 win over No. 9 Franklin College Saturday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on defense.  The senior paced the BU defense with 16 tackles, including 10 solo stops, one tackle for loss, and a quarterback hurry in the win.  The Bluffton defense limited the top scoring offense in the conference to only 17 points on the afternoon.  Bluffton (3-6, 3-4 HCAC) will look to close the season with a win at rival Defiance Saturday.

 

Football: Special Teams – Dylan Dunlop, Hanover College

 

Hanover College’s Dylan Dunlop (Miami, Fla./Palmetto) kicked a 21-yard field goal and three extra points in Hanover’s 24-21 win over Manchester Saturday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on special teams.  With the six points, the senior kicker set Hanover’s career kick-scoring record, boosting his career total to 167 points.  Hanover (5-4, 5-2 HCAC) will take a five-game winning streak into the annual Victory Bell Classic Saturday against No. 23 Franklin.
