WASHINGTON – Washington Redskins safety Reed Doughty will serve as an honorary captain for the undefeated Gallaudet University Bison (8-0, 5-0 ECFC) for Saturday's senior day game this weekend. Gallaudet faces Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) opponent Anna Maria College (2-6, 1-4 ECFC) on Saturday, Nov. 9, noon at Hotchkiss Field.

Doughty is a hard of hearing athlete that has reached the highest level of competition. He has served as starting strong safety for the Redskins and was voted Redskins' special teams captain prior to the 2013 season. Doughty was drafted in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft with the 173rd overall pick, after attending the University of Northern Colorado.

"We are honored to have Reed represent the Bison as an honorary captain this weekend. He is a great role model for all of our young men on the team. We greatly appreciate him taking time out of his busy schedule to join the Bison," said Gallaudet football head coach Chuck Goldstein.

Doughty will be involved with the coin toss for Gallaudet and spend the rest of the game on the Bison sideline.
