More news about: St. Thomas

Sophomore QB Alex Fenske threw for 360 yards and four TDs as No. 15-ranked St. Thomas scored a 43-7 win over Hamline in Saturday's MIAC football game at O'Shaughnessy Stadium.

The Tommies (5-2 overall, 3-2 MIAC) used a 22-0 second-quarter surge to build a 29-0 halftime lead.

St. Thomas, which punted just once, rolled up 29 first downs and 631 yards of offense. They withheld five more injured starters.

St. Thomas survived three lost fumbles and a 190-yard rushing day on 37 carries by HU sophomore Austin Duncan. The 190 yards ties BU's Logan Flannery (38 rushes, 2010 NCAA quarterfinals) for the most yards gained by one UST opponent in the six-year Glenn Caruso era.

Fenske completed 22-of-31 with no interceptions, and had a 55-yard TD to Dan Noehring.

Dan Ferrazzo had six catches for 100 yards -- the Toms' first 100-yard receiving game of the season.

UST QB John Gould came off the bench and rushed seven times for 131 yards, including a slick 61-yard scoring run.

Nick Waldvogel had 80 yards of rushes and receptions. Junior TE Cole Kelly had his thhird career reception and third career touchdown catch.
