More news about: St. Norbert
BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - St. Norbert College's visit to Toyota Park, home of Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire, encountered a conflagration of its own in a 41-0 non-conference loss to John Carroll University.

St. Norbert had no answer for John Carroll junior quarterback Mark Myers, who in just under three quarters of action threw for 526 yards and four touchdown passes. Myers completed 26 of 41 passes to fuel a 664-yard total offense output for the Blue Streaks.

The Green Knights (0-1) were shutout for the first time since Nov. 9, 2002, a stretch of 107 games since a 17-0 loss to Lake Forest College. St. Norbert mustered 114 yards of total offense and seven first downs, and was 1-for-14 on third-down conversions.

John Carroll (1-0) wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, taking the opening kickoff and marching 83 yards in five plays capped off by a 57-yard strike from Myers to Marshall Howell. Myers found Aramis Greenwood for a 49-yard touchdown pass with 28 seconds left in the quarter.

The Blue Streaks led 20-0 at halftime after field goals of 21 and 22 yards by Kresimir Ivkovic in the sceond quarter. In the third quarter, Myers hit Jordan D'Orazio for a 67-yard touchdown pass and Greenwood on a 50-yard aerial for a 34-0 lead. Wes Keller relieved Myers and found Brian Komowski for a 23-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter for the game's final points.

Greenwood finished with six catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns, while Howell had four catches for 147 yards and one touchdown.

St. Norbert rushed for 49 yards, with Brad Boockmeier gaining 29 yards on 11 carries. Boockmeier was also the leading receiver with three catches for 10 yards. James Tringali completed 7 of 23 passes for 65 yards. Anthony Parker finished with a team-high 11 tackles for the Green Knights.

The Green Knights, who did not commit a turnover, punted on all 13 of their possessions. Kevin Krueger's 13 punts and 489 punting yards are both school records.
