Myhra Named To Preseason All-America Squad

More news about: UW-Oshkosh named UW-Oshkosh tailback Cole Myhra to its 2013 Preseason All-America Team.

Last year, Myhra earned All-America second-team honors after scoring a school-record 19 touchdowns and ranking fourth nationally with 1,589 rushing yards. Myhra also caught 44 passes for 418 yards.

Myhra counted five straight games with 140+ yards late in the 2012 season. He totaled 198 yards and three scores during a 55-10 playoff victory over The College of St. Scholastica (Minn.).

With 2,114 career rushing yards, Myhra ranks eighth in school history. He needs 593 yards to pass Ron Cardo for second place. Andy Moriarty is UW-Oshkosh's all-time leader with 4,496. selected Heidelberg University's Cartel Brooks and University of Mount Union's Germany Woods as first-team running backs. Melikke Van Alstyne of Framingham State University joined Myhra on the second team.

Other WIAC representatives on the second team were UW-Platteville receiver Ryley Bailey and UW-Whitewater defensive end Loussaint Minett.

UW-Oshkosh begins the 2013 season at Central College (Iowa) on Sept. 7. Last year, the Titans compiled a 13-1 record, captured the WIAC title and reached the NCAA Division III Final Four.
