WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Four night games and four contests at Cameron Stadium highlight the 2013 Washington & Jefferson College football schedule which was announced by Head Coach Mike Sirianni on Tuesday.
The Presidents face a tough first month as they open the season with three-straight road games for the first time in school history beginning September 7 at Wooster. The Presidents and Fighting Scots will meet for the first time since 1985.
W&J takes on St. John Fisher in Rochester, N.Y., the following week before starting Presidents' Athletic Conference play with the first of four night games on the schedule at Grove City on Sept. 21.
W&J welcomes Thiel to Cameron Stadium on Homecoming Saturday for its first home game of the season on Sept. 28 (2:00 pm). It is the latest start to a home schedule for W&J since 1988.
The month of October also features three road contests with games at PAC foes Bethany (Oct. 5), Westminster (Oct. 19) and Saint Vincent (Oct. 26). Sandwiched between matchups with the Bison and Titans, the Presidents will host perennial conference contender Thomas More on October 12 for the first of two home night games.
Following a bye week to begin November, W&J closes out the regular season with a pair of games in Washington. The Presidents host Geneva on Nov. 9 at 7:00 pm and finish the regular season with the PAC Backyard Brawl against rival Waynesburg at 2:00 pm.
W&J posted an 8-3 record and captured its 22nd PAC regular season in 2012 title under Sirianni, who owns a 93-21 career mark. The Presidents earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III playoffs where they lost at Johns Hopkins in the first round.
