BALTIMORE, MD –- The Johns Hopkins football team is ranked 15th in this week's American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Poll, 19th in the D3football.com Poll and tied for sixth in this week's ECAC Lambert Meadowlands Division III Poll. Johns Hopkins closed the regular season with a 49-7 win over rival McDaniel last Saturday and will open play in the 2012 NCAA Division III Football Playoffs on Saturday, November 17 at home against Washington & Jefferson.

The AFCA Poll, which the Johns Hopkins Athletic Communications Office uses to reflect JHU's official national ranking, is headed again this week by Mount Union, which grabbed 41 of 42 first-place votes and totaled 1,049 points. Mary Hardin-Baylor earned the remaining first-place vote and checks in at number two in the poll with 1,007 points, while St. Thomas (948 points), Linfield (909) and Wesley (862) round out the top five.

Johns Hopkins has now been ranked in the top 25 by the AFCA for 19 consecutive weeks dating back to the start of the 2011 season and this is the 18th straight poll in which the Blue Jays have been ranked in the top 20. This is also the 37th time Johns Hopkins has been ranked in the top 25 by the AFCA since 1999, when it first released its rankings. Johns Hopkins is one of just nine schools that has been ranked in the top 25 by the AFCA every week since the start of the 2011 season.

Mount Union also tops the D3football.com Poll as the Purple Raiders grabbed 24 of 25 first-place votes and 624 points. Mary Hardin-Baylor grabbed the other first-place vote and 597 points to check in at number two, while Linfield (556), St. Thomas (540) and Wisconsin-Oshkosh (519) round out the top five in this poll. This week's #19 ranking marks the 30th time Johns Hopkins has been ranked in the top 25 by D3football.com since its poll debuted in 2003.

In the Lambert Meadowlands Poll, Hobart stands alone at the top and is followed by Widener, Cortland St., Wesley and Salisbury in the top five. Johns Hopkins is tied with Trinity (CT) at number six.
