Gallaudet picked third in ECFC preseason coaches' poll

WHITTINGHAM, Vt. – The Gallaudet University football team was picked to finish third in the 2012 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) preseason coaches poll released on Thursday. The Bison, who finished with a 4-3 conference record last year, received 44 points in a vote conducted by the league's coaches. This is the highest the Bison have been ranked in this poll after being ranked 5th for the past two seasons.

Norwich University, the defending conference champions, earned six first-place votes and 61 points after going 7-0 last season in ECFC play en route to the Cadets' second conference title. SUNY Maritime was picked second with 56 points and two first-place votes after a 6-1 campaign last year in conference play.

Mount Ida checks in at No. 4 with 38 points followed by Castleton State College (36 points), Anna Maria College (21), Becker College (17) and Husson University (15).
