WASHINGTON – CUA placed two student-athletes on the All-South Region Team, it was announced on Monday.  Senior James Fucillo and sophomore Mike O'Shea both received Third Team accolades.

Fucill had a terrific final season for the Cardinals, finishing with 89 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, one sack and an interception.  His 89 tackles ranked second on the team, while his 50 solo tackles tied for the team lead.

Fucillo registered double-digit tackles in four games, including a career-high 14 against Guilford.  He returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown with only 2:07 remaining to seal the Cardinals' 24-15 win at Apprentice School in mid-October.

O'Shea was part of a young, yet effective Cardinals offensive line in 2011.  O'Shea helped pave the way for an offense that ranked near the top of the national rankings all season long in passing, averaged 328 yards per game.

CUA's offensive line allowed only 13 sacks all season long, none of which were given up by O'Shea.  The Cardinals racked up over 400 yards of total offense in six games, including a high of 473 at McDaniel.

This marks the first time since 2008 CUA has had a player named to the All-Region Team.  That season, three Cardinals were honored, including Nick Olivero, Dean Patrone and Keith Ricca.
