Louisiana College sophomore linebacker Peter Ford (New Orleans, LA / Teurling Catholic) made six tackles – including four for a loss of 14 yards – registered 1.5 sacks and forced two fumbles to lead a 37-16 road win over Texas Lutheran. Ford, who takes the league's top weekly defensive award for the second time this season, spearheaded a unit that allowed one touchdown in the first quarter and only field goals after that.

Jonathan Wilder, S, So., Hardin-Simmons

Hardin-Simmons sophomore safety Jonathan Wilder (Cedar park, TX / Vista Ridge HS) had a game-high 13 tackles – eight solo and one for loss – and two interceptions in a 24-14 road loss to McMurry. Texas Lutheran junior place kicker Allen Cain (San Antonio, TX / Stevens HS) went 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, connecting from 32, 46 and 44 yards in a 37-16 loss to Louisiana College. His 44-yarder came in the third quarter and tied the game up 16-16.
