Westminster (Mo.) Blue Jay Football/Dome Day Bits...

Fulton, Mo. - Westminster College will make its ninth appearance in the Minneapolis Metrodome this weekend as part of the 2011 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Dome Day Football Series. The Blue Jays (6-2, 5-2 UMAC) meet Crown College (0-7, 0-6 UMAC) at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, in the weekend's fifth and final game.

*Westminster is 2-0 in the all-time series with Crown College, but this is the first time the two teams will play in the Metrodome (see below)…

*The Blue Jays are 4-4 all-time in the Metrodome and have won their last two games played there (see below)…

*Westminster is 1-0 in Dome Day games played on Saturday (see below)…


*Sophomore quarterback Scott Rodgers completed 8-of-18 passes for 131 yards and a score last year in the Metrodome…

*Junior running back Chris Starkey carried the ball 34 times for 168 yards and a score in last year's Metrodome game…

*Senior receiver Carl Givens has caught six passes for 123 yards and one score in two previous Metrodome games…

*Junior receiver James Gladstone has caught 12 passes for 158 yards and one score in two previous Metrodome games…

*Senior defensive backs Kelvin Williams, DeMarco Moorehead and Ivan Malpica each recorded an interception in last year's Metrodome game…

*Williams has 13 career interceptions, four shy of the individual school record of 17…
