Rose-Hulman Releases 2011 Football Schedule

The 2011 Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology football schedule features a Labor Day weekend season opener and eight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchups.
Rose-Hulman renews its rivalry with DePauw University for the 54th time and head coach Jeff Sokol will make his Fightin' Engineer debut under the Cook Stadium lights on Sept. 3 at 6 p.m.
Following the team's in-season bye week, Rose-Hulman completes the non-conference schedule at Kalamazoo College on Sept. 17.
The HCAC schedule opens with the Homecoming clash against Hanover College on Sept. 24 at 2 p.m.  Last season, Rose-Hulman won its Homecoming matchup by a 10-7 count over Manchester with a goal line stand on the final play of the game.
Rose-Hulman travels to Manchester for its second league contest on Oct. 1, before hosting defending conference champion Franklin College on Oct. 8.  The Fightin' Engineers will cap a two-game home stand against Mount St. Joseph on Oct. 15.
Following a road trip to Bluffton University on Oct. 22, Rose-Hulman returns home for a Senior Day and Dad's Day Weekend matchup against Defiance College on Oct. 29.  The Fightin' Engineers will then hit the road for Anderson on Nov. 5.
The season finale features the renewal of the Battle of the Borders Game against Earlham College in Richmond on Nov. 12.  Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series 41-38 and has won all 10 matchups in the Borders series.
Rose-Hulman finished 6-4 overall last fall for its fifth consecutive winning season, the longest such streak for the Fightin' Engineers since 1986-90.
