"Carroll University thanks Coach Hiemenz for his hard work and dedication to our football program and the department of athletics," said Baker. "We wish him the best in all his future endeavors."

Mark Krzykowski, assistant head football coach and defensive coordinator, will assume head coaching responsibilities on an interim basis. Hiemenz has accepted another position at Carroll.

In five seasons at the helm, Hiemenz's squads compiled a record of 28-22 overall, including a 26-19 mark in the Midwest Conference.

Season-by-season records under Hiemenz:

2008, 7-3 overall, 6-3 MWC
2009, 5-5 overall, 5-4 MWC
2010, 7-3 overall, 6-3 MWC

Prior to becoming the Pioneers head coach, Hiemenz was Carroll's offensive coordinator for three years under Jeff Voris, currently the head football coach at Butler University.
