BELOIT, Wis. — Marshall Oium connected with Clay Wolff on a 6-yard touchdown pass in the game's final minute as Chicago defeated host Beloit 28-25 in the season opener for both teams Saturday night.

Chicago started its winning drive at its own 36-yard line with 2:13 left in the game trailing 25-20. A 50-yard pass play from Oium to Wolff moved the ball to the Beloit 11.

Two plays later, Oium found Wolff in the corner of the end zone with 43 seconds left in the contest. Oium and Wolff then connected on the two-point conversion.

Beloit drove to the Chicago 30-yard line in the game's closing seconds, but Joshua Burandt intercepted a pass in the end zone as time expired.

Chicago fell behind 13-0 after one quarter as Beloit scored on a 3-yard Dillon Hess run and a 48-yard pass from Brian Maughn to Derek Carrier.

A 4-yard touchdown dash by Francis Adarkwa and a 24-yard strike from Oium to Wolff tied the game at 13-13 midway through the second quarter, but Beloit regained the lead when Maughn connected with Julian Ross from 6 yards out with :04 remaining the in the first half.

The teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter. Beloit scored first on a 50-yard pass from Maughn to Andrew Christensen before Adarkwa logged his second 4-yard touchdown run of the night. Adarwka finished the game with 148 yards (96 in the second half) on 31 carries.

Oium was 18-for-38 for 190 yards with one interception. Maughn completed 22 of 41 attempts for 309 yards.

Wolff caught 10 passes for 124 yards on the evening. Carrier (116) and Ross (111) both surpassed the 100-yard receiving mark for the Bucs.

Matt Sargent had three sacks for the Maroons.
