Norm Singbush caught two fourth-quarter touchdown passes in the victory.

Augustana (12-0) rallied from a 10-point fourth quarter deficit with two touchdowns in the final 10 minutes to defeat Union and win the 1983 Division III football championship.

Tight end Norm Singbush caught passes of 10 and 2 yards from quarterback Jay Penney, the go-ahead score with 3:09 left. Union (11-1) drove to the Augustana 17-yard line but failed on three passes in a row and Augustana ran out the clock.

Union jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first five minutes behind a Greg Sticka 30-yard field goal and a 45-yard touchdown pass from Dan Stewart to Frank Kraft.
