Josh Lidell, Dan Pugh and Matt Campbell hold the championship trophy.

Virginia is
for Raiders

SALEM — They don't want to be called a dynasty, but the Mount Union Purple Raiders rolled past Trinity (Texas) 48-7 to win Stagg Bowl XXX. It's their third consecutive national title, their sixth in seven seasons and their seventh overall. Does that mean it is time for Mount Union to move out of Division III?

Dan Pugh was named Most Outstanding Player of the championship game, the third consecutive year it's gone to a Mount Union running back. He ran a Stagg Bowl-record 49 times for 253 yards and four touchdowns. The box score.
