Joe Callahan hit Steve Koudossou 11 times for 132 yards and three touchdowns, including three times for 82 yards on the final drive in which Wesley scored with just 12.8 seconds remaining to defeat Johns Hopkins 29-24.

Johns Hopkins had taken the 24-23 lead just seconds earlier, as Robbie Matey hit Daniel Wodicka with a 10-yard touchdown pass with 50 seconds remaining.

Franklin won in similarly dramatic fashion, as Jonny West hit Kendal Butler with a 35-yard touchdown pass with 18 seconds left to defeat Washington U. 17-10. The 17 points tied the season low for the Grizzlies.

It was a broken pass play in which junior wingback Jonny Hession was the original target. "I thought Jonny was going to catch the ball, but I could tell that the wind was taking the ball in my direction," said Butler. "I made a play and I'm glad we got the win."

Mark Myers was held to 22-for-46 passing and was picked off four times as No. 25 St. John Fisher defeated No. 9 John Carroll 25-16 on a snowy day at JCU. The Blue Streaks turned the ball over six times in the loss.

Tyler Fenti hit Nathan Nigolian for a 15-yard touchdown with 5:56 to go into the game and found him again for the two-point conversion to take a 22-16 lead, then added a field goal to put the game out of reach.

Ithaca rallied from a 17-3 halftime deficit, scoring three times in the final 19 minutes to defeat Framingham State 20-17. Tom Dempsey hit Vito Boffoli for a 10-yard touchdown with 3:32 to go to give the Bombers the lead for good. Brian Garvey picked off Matt Silva's pass in Ithaca territory to end the game.

Nash Nance threw for five touchdowns, three of them to Holton Walker in a 42-34 Hampden-Sydney win vs. Maryville. A shootout at the half, the teams each scored just one touchdown in the second half as the Tigers stopped Maryville on fourth down three times in the fourth quarter, once at the 15. The top seeds had little trouble, although UW-Whitewater got off to a slow start in its first-round game. Mount Union ran out to a 21-7 lead on Washington and Jefferson on three Kevin Burke touchdown passes and cruised to a 34-20 win.  Erik Peterson went 25-for-27 passing for 300 yards and four touchdowns and Bethel held Jake Jensen to 37 yards rushing in a 70-13 win vs. St. Scholastica at the Metrodome. Brandon Marquardt ran for 112 yards and three TDs, while Mitch Hallstrom had 127 yards and two TDs on eight catches for the Royals. Photo gallery St. Norbert managed just 169 yards of total offense but trailed just 10-0 at the half and 17-7 late in the third before UW-Whitewater put the Green Knights away in the fourth quarter. Photo gallery Ryan Givens returned to the backfield for the Warhawks and ran for 123 yards and a touchdown in the win. Mary Hardin-Baylor broke open a 14-0 lead with three third-quarter touchdowns to defeat Redlands 35-7. Zach Anderson threw for just 69 yards but ran for 100 and two touchdowns on just 10 carries for the Cru in the win. Photo gallery

North Central and UW-Platteville cruised as well. North Central had five quick scoring drives in the first half alone and also returned a blocked punt for a touchdown in rolling up a 42-0 lead. The Cardinals defeated Albion 63-7. Platteville rolled out to a 38-7 lead and had a 100-yard rusher and two 100-yard receivers in defeating Concordia (Wis.) 54-20.
