Todd Bonheyo ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns, while his brother Ryan Bonheyo ran for a score and also forced a fumble as Gallaudet defeated the University of Rochester 37-13. It was part of a day in which a bunch of this year's surprise teams improved to 3-0.

U of R quarterback Dean Kennedy completed just six of 22 passes and threw an interception in the loss, a game which for Rochester replaced St. John Fisher on the schedule for this season. The Yellowjackets, who survived at Thiel last week, fall to 1-1 on the season, while Gallaudet is 3-0 with prior wins vs. Shenandoah and Apprentice School.

Juniata, which last won more than three games in a season in 2002, joined the ranks of the 3-0 teams with a convincing 38-16 win in the rain against visiting Gettysburg. Eagles quarterback Ward Udinski went 19 of 32 with four touchdown passes and no interceptions, and ran for 76 yards and a score as well. Olivet, which won two games over five seasons between 2008 and 2012, improved to 3-0 with a 34-7 win against Rockford.

RPI recorded six sacks and held Castleton State to minus-42 yards rushing in a 23-8 win, as it improved to 3-0 under new coach Ralph Isernia. Castleton, again playing without All-American Brandon Boyle, got 11 catches for 147 yards from Soren Pelz-Walsh, but couldn't manage a run longer than six yards. Ted Abriel and Arthur Kuyan each had two sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss for RPI.

A 26-point third quarter propelled Hope to a 3-0 start as well. The Flying Dutchmen trailed Wisconsin Lutheran 7-3 at the half, but got a safety and three Michael Atwell touchdown passes to different receivers to spark the 37-7 win.

The NESCAC got underway in Week 3, and Trinity survived a challenge to its conference supremacy with a 28-17 win at Bates. The Bobcats led 17-14 into the fourth quarter, but turned it over on consecutive plays -- part of three on three plays for both teams, and two of four overall for Bates -- as the Bantams made 123 yards and three touchdowns from Evan Bunker stand up. Trinity's defense allowed Bates to convert just three of 17 third downs.

Also in Maine, Colby used four interceptions, including one returned 98 yards for a score by Zach Padula, and a safety to help beat Williams, 31-8. Middlebury turned a game that was 7-5 after 16 minutes into a 27-5 victory at Bowdoin.

Husson broke a 15-game losing streak, beating Alfred State 13-0 to win for the first time since Oct. 9 2010 at Anna Maria. The Eagles gained just 210 yards and had four turnovers, but held the new-to-D-III Pioneers to 141 yards and forced three turnovers. Husson, which had been outscored 69-7 in its first two games, got 12 tackles from Stephan Dance. Puget Sound snapped a 20-game losing streak, winning 42-33 at Whittier behind three touchdown passes by Braden Foley.

Emory & Henry's Kyle Boden may have set a new NCAA mark for completion percentage, hitting on 29 of 31 passes in a 382-yard, five-touchdown effort at Methodist. The Wasps won, 61-22. Jack Michels scored the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter to give Pacific its best start since 1964, lifting the Boxers to a 28-21 win over Menlo. Pacific joins the group at 3-0.

Kean bounced back from season-opening losses to Albright and Mary Hardin-Baylor by outrushing Endicott 190-28 in a 24-17 road victory. Frostburg State rang up 567 yards but needed a 19-yard Isaac Robinson field goal with three seconds left to beat Case Western Reserve, 36-33.

Mass Maritime rolled up 752 yards of total offense in defeating Maine Maritime 52-18 and winning the 41st annual Admiral's Cup. Mike Stanton was 22-for-28 passing for 357 yards and backup John Trudel threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another in the win.

Ohio Wesleyan won for the 14th time in its past 15 games, beating Kenyon, 20-13 on Saturday.

Hardin-Simmons finally got a good half from its defense, building a 38-7 lead -- with the only score coming on an interception return -- en route to a 66-34 win at NAIA Texas College. The Cowboys' defense forced four turnovers in the win.

On Friday night, Stevenson broke into the 3-0 club, defeating FDU-Florham 55-22. Check out a D3report from that game.
