The FDU-Florham athletic department announced the retirement of football coach Rich Mosca on Monday afternoon, Feb. 7. He has been as the helm for the Devils for the past nine seasons.

Mosca spent 15 years with the Devils, four as a part-time offensive coordinator, two as a full-time offensive coordinator, and nine as the full-time head coach. His previous coaching stints included five years as an assistant coach at Monmouth University, and four high school head coaching stints.

A 1970 graduate of West Liberty State, Mosca finished with a career record of 23-67.

FDU athletic director Bill Klika said, “The athletic department is very grateful for the time Rich has given to us. His devotion to the school, football program and his players was second to none. He was a major part of the football program at FDU and we wish him the best in retirement.”

Klika has served solely as athletic director since stepping down from the football coaching job after the 2001 season. The school will conduct a nationwide search to find Mosca’s successor beginning immediately.
