Purple power There will be purple a plenty in next week's national semifinals. Mount Union, Mary Hardin-Baylor and UW-Whitewater assured that with regional final victories on Saturday afternoon. They'll be joined by Bethel who wrapped up the snow-pelted West region. Mount Union jumped on St. John Fisher for a 21-0 halftime lead and never looked back in 52-10 win. The Purple Raiders approached 600 yards of offense and will host Bethel in Alliance next Saturday. Check out the photo gallery. Mary Hardin-Baylor got over the Wesley hump with a 27-10 victory in Dover. The Crusaders recovered four Wolverine fumbles and got 217 rushing yards from Jarvis Thrasher and Quincy Daniels. The Warhawks dominated Wabash 47-7 setting up a rematch from Week 9 of the regular season. UW-Whitewater outgained the Little Giants 338-17 on the ground. Check out the photo gallery. Bethel survived nasty weather and the west region bracket, stifling Central 27-13 in the snow. Ben Wetzell ran for one score and threw for another before leaving the game with an injury.
