Big-game weekend Around the Nation It's hard to believe there are Division I talking heads who cling to the idea that the BCS, or some outgrowth of it, is the best system for that level of football. As Keith McMillan writes, if only they could see what we have at Division III, they'd change their mind -- you can indeed have a great regular season and a postseason. You know, one where one true champion is crowned on the field, not on a ballot. We had a great set of games last weekend and even more great games on the schedule for Friday and Saturday. McMillan explores the games with impact in this week's Around the Nation. Mount Union at Ohio Northern, St. Olaf at St. John's, Mary Hardin-Baylor at Hardin-Simmons, John Carroll at Capital? And that's just games between two Top 25 teams. After five weeks of September, October is going to start with a bang. The D3football.com crew also got a good taste of whatever the opposite of coachspeak is. (Is that just plain-spoken English, perhaps?) That and more in Around the Nation. | ||
