Around the Region Much of the talk about Millsaps centers around quarterback Juan Joseph, who has helped lead the Majors' surge the past season and a half with his strong arm. But as we were reminded this past weekend, Millsaps is about much more than one man or even one side of the ball. Who are the unsung Majors? Wes Anderson has more in this week's Around the South. It's never too early to look ahead to perhaps Saturday's biggest game, as No. 1 Mount Union travels to No. 9 Ohio Northern, the last team to defeat the Purple Raiders. "You want to have a very short memory in football,” said Mount Union coach Larry Kehres. "They beat us here a couple years ago. It was a great victory for them. A lot of the guys playing now weren’t playing then. If you can just put last week’s game behind you and prepare for each game in a similar manner, really respect your opponent regardless of who your opponent is, that puts you in position to have a chance to win." Check out Matt Florjancic's Around the Great Lakes column for more. Ryan Tipps writes about the scene Saturday at the Bridgewater/Hampden-Sydney game, as well a pair of running backs who are back in the saddle in Around the Mid-Atlantic. Monmouth and St. Norbert prepare to meet in what has become the key game in the Midwest Conference in recent years, says Clyde Hughes in Around the Midwest. That and more in this week's Around the Region columns. | |
