The Liberty League has named Tim Danehy as its first full-time commissioner. Danehy, a 1992 graduate of Clarkson, has served as the administrator of the conference for the past four years, overseeing the league’s public relations, the Web site and scheduling, according to a league news release.

"I am extremely honored to be the first full-time commissioner of the Liberty League," Danehy said in a release. "The membership of the league represents some of the finest institutions in the country, both academically and athletically, and it's a great privilege to work with them in this capacity."

For the past eight years, Danehy has also operated collegehockeystats.net, an online service providing stats and other information for all teams and conferences for men's and women's college hockey.

"We are extremely pleased to name Tim Danehy the full-time commissioner of the Liberty League," said Gail Cummings-Danson, Skidmore College’s Athletic Director and Liberty League president in the release. "Tim has done an excellent job in his position as league administrator, and we are confident that he will provide outstanding leadership with his experience in, and knowledge of, college athletics."

The Liberty League sponsors championships in 24 sports. Schools in the conference include Clarkson, Hamilton, Hobart and William Smith, Rochester, RPI, St. Lawrence, Skidmore, Union and Vassar. Susquehanna, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and WPI are associate members for football only.

"It’s an exciting time for our league," Danehy said. "It’s an important step for us to have a full-time commissioner to coordinate for the league, the NCAA and other outside organizations."
