Quarterback throwing deep downfield into double coverage, ball deflects off a defender and right into the arms of an approaching receiver. It sounds and looks like the Immaculate Reception, except with a twist. The defenders commit pass interference and the ball deflects off the back of a defender's foot into Hanover receiver Ricky Windell's hands. He took it the rest of the way for a 70-yard touchdown. Week 9 Play of the Week finalists
Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:
- Hamline quarterback Tim Bona's Hail Mary pass ricochets off a teammate and ended up in the hands of tight end Phillip Sherman through a maze of players on the last play of the game to lift Hamline past St. Olaf 23-17. Watch
- Tufts' Matt McCormack blocks the punt, then throws a block as Christian Proctor catches the ball and runs it in 24 yards to the end zone for a touchdown vs. Colby. Watch
- Montclair State's C.J. Conway had four interceptions in a 30-20 win over Cortland. His best interception came on this play, a one-handed tipped play in which he was able to get not only one but both feet down. Watch
- On yet another deflected pass, Rose-Hulman's Aaron Abbott hauls this one in and goes 36 yards for the touchdown with 43 seconds left to lift the Fightin' Engineers over Manchester 38-37. Watch
