Into the record books

Heidelberg running back Cartel Brooks pushed the NCAA all-divisions single-game rushing record a little further out of reach, thanks in part to this 81-yard touchdown run that helped him reach 465 yards in a 42-14 rout of Baldwin Wallace on Nov. 16, 2013. It's the D3football.com Play of the Week.

We solicit video of top plays from every Division III football program and this was our top clip.

Week 11 Play of the Week finalists

  • Joe Vito, a wide receiver for Union holding on a short field goal, had trouble with a snap and ran it into the end zone for a touchdown against RPI in the Dutchman Shoes game. He also threw for a TD on a bad snap earlier in the game. Watch
  • Manchester offensive lineman Eric Courter catches a blocked field goal and finds his way into the end zone for a touchdown, giving the Spartans a 7-0 lead in the annual "Battle for the Bronze Ball" with Anderson. The Spartans went on to win 42-13. Watch
